"I think this club is perfect," Jessica exclaimed as she spotted a club in the heart of the City.

It was after dinner, and the group was wandering through the City once again. They all agreed that they would go to a club at least for a little while that night.

The line wasn’t too long for the club because they were actually pretty early. They all crammed into a round table, then each ordered drinks for themselves.

"Let’s go dancing," Becki said to Drew.

The two got up to the middle of the dance floor, followed by Charlene and Jeff.

"Let’s go over to the bar and check some of the guys out. We’re single now, but let’s hope that we’re not by the end of the night," Sara said to Megan and Jessica.

Megan and Jessica laughed and followed Sara to the bar.

Nick got up to dance with some girl on the dance floor, who had been giving him eye contacts ever since Nick got seated.

"What’s your name?" Nick asked casually, moving to the boisterous music.

"Robin," she replied. "You?"

"It’s Nick. You from around here?"

"Actually, I’m here for vacation with a bunch of my friends."

"Same with me."

The two continued to have a conversation into the night.

"This isn’t working," Megan complained, sipping another drink of hers.

"Why don’t we just go dancing and check out the guys while we’re at it?" Jessica suggested.

The three girls got off from their stools and went over to the dance floor. A couple of guys approached them. They were tall and had Latino looks the their faces.

"Hey, there," one of them said.

Jessica turned around to see the handsome guy. "Hi…"

He and his friend looked familiar, but she had no idea from where. All she knew was that they were gorgeous looking.

"What are your names?" the other guy asked.

The girls introduced themselves and asked the guys the same question in return.

The first guy began to answer, "My name is Derek."

Jessica’s eyes grew large in realization. "You’re Derek Jeter!"

Sara quickly looked over to Derek’s friend and exclaimed, "You’re Alex Rodriguez!"

Megan looked at her friends, a little confused.

"They’re like our favorite baseball players!" Sara whispered excitedly into Megan’s ear.

The guys started to blush a little under the dim lights because they were recognized.

"Sorry, I didn’t mean to be mean," Jessica apologized.

"That’s okay," Derek replied kindly. "So, are you from around here?"

"I used to live in New Jersey, but I’m just visiting New York now from Ohio," she replied.

"That’s cool. How long are you staying?"

"About another week or so."

"Can I buy you a drink?" he offered.

"Sure," Jessica replied and walked over to the bar with Derek.

"So…" Sara said.

Alex was admiring how beautiful Sara was. Her long brown hair fell down to her waist. Her eyes glistened in the lights.

"Tell me a little about yourself," Alex started.

"I don’t know what to tell you. I’m 22 and I just graduated this past summer from college. I actually used to live near Seattle, that’s how I got hooked into the Mariners and you," Sara introduced herself shyly to him.

Alex grinned at her and they continued to talk and dance into the night.

Justin and Ashley danced at the other side of the club. More people entered the club as the night wore on. They moved their bodies along with the music, but not really saying a word to one another.

Finally, Ashley had to break the silence, "What’s up with you, J?"

"Nothing," he replied, not looking at her at all.

Ashley rolled her eyes and knew that something was wrong with him. Actually, he hadn’t been the same for the past few days.

"Justin, you know that you can talk to me, right?" she reassured him.

"It’s nothing, okay?" he snapped at her.

She looked at him in shock. For as long as she had known him, he had never acted so rude to her. She looked up at him, but he didn’t look back at her. She ran her fingers through her blonde hair. She hated not being able to get through to him. Their relationship had based on communication and then and there, they didn’t have that.

Completely annoyed with Justin’s attitude, Ashley turned around and walked away from Justin. He scolded at himself, but opted to not go after her.

After searching through crowds of people, Ashley spotted Megan by the bar.

"Hey, Ashley, are you okay?" Megan asked immediately upon seeing the look on her friend’s face.

"Umm…yeah, I just wanted to tell someone that I’m going to go back to the hotel," Ashley replied shakily.

"Do you want me to get Justin for you?"

"No, he’s the last person I want to talk to right now."

Megan had a questionable look on her face, but didn’t want to ask to many questions. "You know why? I’ll come with you. I haven’t found anyone great and frankly, I don’t want to stay and see everyone else so happy."

"Let’s go," Ashley nodded.

The two girls let the bar and walked to get a taxi.

Justin stood on the side, looking at Ashley and Megan as they walked out of the club. He knew that he was acting like a jerk, but he just didn’t know how to explain to Ashley just how he was feeling.

"Do you just want to stay here tonight?" Megan asked after Ashley told her the story in the taxi.

Ashley smiled. "Yeah, can I?"

"Of course!"

Ashley went back to her room and got some clothes. The two watched some shows on the television and headed to bed.
