I turned my attention to the girl who had just called out my name. She really looked familiar, but I just couldn't put it all together. Then, I realized.

"Aryela?" I gaped.

"I can't believe that it's you!" she exclaimed.

"I guess that you guys know one another," Drew said on the side.

"Guys, you're not going to believe this, but Aryela and I used to go to the same school and everything until she moved to North Carolina. We were really good friends too," I explained to the rest of them, who were just looking at us confusedly.

"That's really cool. Who would've thought that you two would meet up again?" the other girl among the roommates said. "Oh, by the way, I'm Sara."

"Hi," I shook her hand.

"Sorry for not introducing ourselves, I'm Nick," one of the guys said.

"I'm Lance," the shorter guy of the two said.

"Well, I guess that we're all here. Wendy and I didn't want to go in first, to be fair to you guys," Drew stated. "But since we're all here, let's head inside."

All of us smiled at one another, and ran to the entrance of the house. Aryela and I followed closely behind. I still couldn't believe that we both got selected to the show because we both used to love it. It was definitely all starting out really great.

I grabbed the key that was located right outside of the door. I opened the door with the five other roommates right behind me, totally full of excitement in their voices. It was the moment that we had been waiting for ever since we got the call from the producers telling us that we had been accepted to the show.

Anxiously, I put the key into the lock and turned it to the right. I heard a little click and we were just seconds away from seeing our new house. Using my left hand, I turned the doorknob and the door opened slowly.

I entered the house and everyone followed closely behind. I looked up and down. The house was totally amazing, more incredible than any house that I had ever been in.

Located right in front of me was a spiral staircase. Coming from right behind me, Nick ran straight up the stairs with Sara right behind him. I decided to explore the downstairs first. I walked forward through an open door and right into the kitchen. There were a bunch of cabinets and the walls were painted in a pale lavender color. All the appliance were already settled in the house. It seemed like everything was there already.

Walking to my right, I walked right into the living room, where I met up with Aryela and Wendy.

"Isn't this house beautiful?" I asked them.

They both giggled and Wendy answered, "It's better than anything else in the world right now. I'll see you later."

The two of them practically hopped into the kitchen in happiness. I shook my head left and right, laughing at the two of them. I looked around the living room. The couch was in the far left corner. There was an entertainment center to my immediate right. The coffee table was almost in the middle of the room on a blue medium-sized rug. There was a piano to my left with a bouquet of flowers in a vase right on top of it.

I headed to my right and found my way to what seemed to be the den. I faced a laptop right on top of the big wooden desk. There was also a cordless phone right next to a fax machine. Right behind the desk, there were a couple of clear windows that looked out right into the street. In the left, there was a bookcase with quite a few books.

Walking to the right again, I walked right back into the front room. However, I kept on walking straight, where I found one of the bedrooms. It was a small room, with a couple of beds at the opposite sides of the room. Fresh matching sheets were on top of the beds.

Just as I was about to enter the bathroom that was on the right, I heard a shriek upstairs. Going with my first instinct, I ran out of the bedroom and up the spiral staircase.

I saw Drew coming from downstairs and he asked, "What happened?"

"Nick here," I pointed to my right, "tried to scare me."

"Oh, I see," Drew let out a little chuckle. "How is it upstairs?"

"It's really awesome. I'm not done yet though. How about downstairs?"

"It's so beautiful. I really like how MTV decorated the house. Well since I'm already up here, I'll just look around," Drew said and exited the room.

I turned to Nick, who just busted out laughing suddenly.

"What's so funny?" I asked, giving him a look.

"I still can't believe that you got scared."

I turned around, flinging my long blonde hair toward him and walked out of the room. I walked into the hallway and to the other side, just passed the stairs. There was a door and I just opened it. I entered a little area. It wasn't exactly a room, but it overlooked downstairs with the curtains up. If the curtains were down, it was probably going to be the confession room. I walked out, closing the door behind me.

I headed back down in the direction of the room Nick and I had been in. There was a room on the right before that room, and I entered. It was definitely a big room. The beds were aligned against the same wall on the left side, separated in the middle by a nightstand that had a lava lamp on top. The closet was across from the beds. There was a door to the bed and I walked there to see a huge bathroom, one with a Jacuzzi. Right then and there, I knew that I really wanted to get the room.

I didn't see anyone upstairs, so I headed down and went to the left. As I looked to the left, I found the rest of the roommates.

<> Lance <>

All of the roommates, with the exception of Sara, had been looking around the living room. Sara came in and we knew that we had to start settling for the rooms.

"Guys, we have to do the room arrangements," I told them.

Everyone agreed, but no suggestion really came from them.

"Well, Aryela and I would like to share a room," Wendy spoke out. "And we want the room upstairs with the room with the Jacuzzi."

"So do I!" Sara and Drew exclaimed at the same time.

"Well, fine, doesn't matter. Can we take the room down here then?" Aryela said.

"Yeah, sure, that's settled," I said. "You two," I pointed in the direction of Sara and Drew, "are you two really going to share that room with the Jacuzzi?"

"I'm okay with it," Drew said simply.

"Yeah, I guess so."

I turned to Nick. "Well, I guess there's just the two of us left."

"Yeah, I guess so, roomy. That was actually faster than I thought was going to take, although the room that we're stuck with isn't really my favorite room of the house," Nick objected.

No one said anything to offer another room to me and Nick, so we were stuck with the far room upstairs.

We got off from all of our seats and headed to the front of the house where our luggage was located and each of us grabbed our own bags to unpack in the room.

<> Aryela <>

It was a wonder how I ever got so much clothes packed. I realized how heavy my bag was as I was dragging it into the room and Wendy and I got. As much as we wanted the room with the Jacuzzi, it was so much easier for us to have the room downstairs so we wouldn't have to drag everything up that spiral staircase.

I flopped down on the bed when I got my bags near the closet.

"Can you believe that we were both chosen for the show?" Wendy asked as she started to hang some of her clothes up in the closet.

"No, not at all. I mean, I've missed you so much, even though we talked on the phone and online," I walked over to her and gave her a hug. "How's everything back there?"

"I haven't had much of a chance to talk with everyone since I just got back from Northwestern when I got the call and stuff," she told me.

"How's Jen?"

Jen was one of our friends and both her and Wendy went to Northwestern University together.

"She's good. I talked to Pam the other day and she said that she's really enjoying work. Alexis is really hating community college the last time we spoke," Wendy told me.

"Really? Pam is working? And she's enjoying it?" I laughed surprisingly. Pam was never the type that liked any kind of work.

"Well, she's definitely enjoying herself at the hospital. I mean, how can you blame her? She met this really great guy there like a couple of months ago and they've been together ever since."

"Man, I wish that I had kept in touch with everyone. How's Jamie?" I asked, referring to my best friend. I hadn't really talked to her in a while.

"She's doing good. College life is pretty good for her. I would've thought that you knew more about that than me," she said questionably.

"Let's just say that we lost a lot in our friendship when I moved to North Carolina," I said, remembering the bad times that Jamie and I had over the phone.

"Oh, I didn't know. I'm sorry," she said sympathetically.

"That's okay. I'll tell you more about that one of these days."

"You know," she said, changing the subject. "I barely recognized you."

When Wendy and I saw each other last time, about three years ago, I had long dyed blond hair, but I had the hair cut and removed the color from my hair, so it turned back to my original color, which was brown.

I smiled. "Yeah, I decided that I needed a change when I left New York."

Wendy and I continued to talk more, trying to catch each other up on the past three years of our lives.

I finished unpacking rather quickly, went downstairs and turned on the television. Most of the stations were in Spanish, but we had satellite, so I was able to switch on to see a few American television shows. I tuned into a basketball game, which was definitely my favorite sport.

"What are you watching?" someone asked.

I turned and saw Aryela standing in the doorway. "Oh, just some basketball."

She approached the couch a little and looked at the television. "You like basketball too?"

"Yeah," I said.

"Cool, so do I," she popped down on the couch next to me and started watching the television intensely.

"Do you play?" I asked, trying to continue the conversation.

"Yeah, I played for the school in my junior and senior years of high school. I mean, I have to do something with my height," she laughed a little.

Aryela was a few inches shorter than me. I was about six foot two inches, so she was pretty tall for a girl.

The two of us just sat there in the living room watching the television for another half an hour or so. She was definitely the type of girl that I was interested in.
