Claudia and Kyle slowly walked up the stairs to Emilie's room. Maggie was getting the little girl to sleep, but with no luck.
"I'm glad that you're back because she wouldn't sleep at all," Maggie said to her brother.
"Thanks for looking after her for a little while. By the way, Maggie, this is Claudia." Maggie gave him a weird look. "I'll explain later."
Maggie left the room and Kyle and Claudia went in.
"How's my little princess doing?"
"Okay."
"Em, I'd like you to meet Claudia," Kyle introduced. "Claud, this is Emilie."
The two smiled at one another.
"I have something to tell you, princess," Kyle said.
"I should leave you two alone," Claudia said, about to walk out the door.
"Actually, I want you to hear this too," Kyle stated, turning back to his daughter. "Well, I know how you're worried about Daddy a lot because of wrestling."
Emilie nodded.
"Well, I'm going to not do that as much anymore because I love you, Emilie," Kyle said gently.
"I love you too, Daddy."
Claudia quietly slipped out of the room and sat down on the top of the staircase. She was overwhelmed by how much Kyle did want the two of them to be together. Tears fell out of her eyes, this time of happiness.
"You okay?" Kyle asked behind her.
She looked up and nodded.
"I was afraid that you left again or something," he grinned at her.
"No, I was just overwhelmed with what you said."
"I told you that I meant what I said. I wouldn't do that to her and I wouldn't do that to you either. You were probably the first one to tell me to quit for my little girl and I'm mad that it's taken me so long to even realize that," Kyle said. "So thank you."
She smiled and he hugged her.
"How about this? Why don't we go out tonight for an official date?" Kyle said, playing with her delicate fingers.
"Sure," she smiled and remained in his embrace.
"Daddy?" Emilie asked after she walked out of her room.
"Yes, princess?"
"Can she read me a story?" Emilie motioned to Claudia.
"Well, that's up to Claudia," he turned to her.
"Sure," Claudia replied.
"Well, go pick out a book and we'll be there in a minute," Kyle told the girl, who went back into her room.
"I told you she likes you," Kyle said.
"Yeah," Claudia smiled and kissed him on the lips softly.
The two walked into the room and Claudia began to read "Snow White" for Emilie. Kyle stood by the door and studied how beautiful Claudia was.
After Claudia was done, Emilie was fast asleep.
Kyle and Claudia went into his room and just talked for the entire afternoon, getting to know one another.
