Nick, Sara, Drew and Becki were the last ones to arrive back at the cabin. They unloaded the Christmas tree off the top of the car and the two guys carried it into the house. Everyone had dug their ways through the mounds of shopping bags, looking at everything. Jeff and Charlene had already started to put some decorations around the cabin. Jessica and Megan were decorating the ten stockings they had bought with the names of the group.
"We’re back!" Nick said.
Everyone looked toward them and Justin started to help out the guys to place the tree in the corner of the room to the right of the fireplace. Ashley got up and started to pick out ornaments to put on the tree. Drew and Becki unpacked tons of lights to be put up on the tree.
While Drew was trying to untangle all the lights that were spread around the living room, he wrapped the lights all around himself.
When Becki realized what Drew was done, she giggled at how silly her boyfriend could sometimes be. Becki carefully tried to separate Drew and the lights, but needed Nick to help her out. He came over from the stairs, which he was decorating with Sara.
"I can’t believe you pulled this one out, bro," Nick laughed at the mess Drew got into.
"Yeah, you can laugh all you want, Nick, but at least I didn’t puke down some girl’s mouth," Drew retorted and laughed.
"You think you’re funny?"
"Okay, guys," Becki interrupted, "let’s just try to get him here untangled, okay? I mean, Nick, you should know that Drew does some silly stuff sometimes."
"See!" Drew exclaimed toward Nick. Then it hit him what Becki had just said, "Hey, Becki!"
Nick and Becki laughed at Drew and they began to get Drew out of the mess.
Jeff and Charlene had taken a couple boxes of lights to decorate around the front windows of the cabin. Charlene was up on a chair to put up the lights, while Jeff trailed the lights down below her.
"How does it look, Jeff?" Charlene asked after she did a little design on top.
"It looks great, Char," Jeff replied.
"Okay, good," she smiled and did the remaining side of the window.
After a few minutes, she finished and the two of them began to put a lighted window decoration up. It was a cute little reindeer that complimented to all the lights on the window already.
Jessica and Megan got through half of the stockings. They were being extra careful on them because they couldn’t mess up the writings.
"Let’s put on some music," Jessica suggested.
"Yeah," Megan replied.
She walked over to her bag and took out her CD player, which had the "This Christmas" CD in it. She placed it carefully on the CD stereo player in the house and turned up the volume.
Everyone smiled at her after they heard "If Everyday Could Be Christmas" began to play loudly but peacefully.
"I love this CD so much," Jessica stated, getting back to the stockings.
Megan nodded and picked up a sparkly marker and started to put down Becki’s name.
Nick and Becki had finally gotten together and finished untangling Drew from the piles of lights. Starting from the top of the tree, Becki surrounded it with hundreds of lights. Packs were taken out and up on the tree before they knew it. After they were done, they helped out Justin and Ashley, who had already picked out the ornaments they’d most like to put on.
Soon enough, the tree was had a panoply of colorful ornaments.
After another half an hour or so of decorating the house, everyone was pretty much done with their jobs. The stockings hung from the mantle of the fireplace, ten of them with all of their names. Everyone dispersed to their rooms and took out the presents they brought along on the trip and placed them under the Christmas tree.
Justin lit up the fireplace and dimmed the lights that were brightly shining in the house. Everyone had gathered around the living room on the couches and the floor.
Ashley sat back in Justin’s embrace on the floor, likewise with Becki and Drew. Charlene leaned her head on Jeff’s shoulder, as she was getting tired into the night. Megan, Jessica and Sara sat on one of the couches with Nick sitting by Sara on the arm.
"This is really wonderful and I’m really glad that we’re all here together," Jeff said to everyone.
"Yeah, should we plug in for the lights?" Justin asked everyone.
Everyone agreed to and Justin got up to pick up the plug to place it in the socket.
The tree lit up immediately. The lights sparkled. The ornaments dangled complimentary to the lights. Everyone gasped in observation of the lights.
"This is going to be the best Christmas ever!" Ashley exclaimed and kissed Justin passionately.
Everyone began to talk among themselves well into the night.
