"Wow, Justin, this is really amazing!" Ashley exclaimed after everyone moved all their stuff from the cars into the cabin.
"I’ve actually only been here a couple of times, but they were both during the summer. It really looks incredible here in the winter," Justin sighed, wrapping his arms around his girlfriend’s waist.
"Yeah, it does. Thank you so much for bringing all of us up here," she turned around and planted a kiss on Justin’s luscious lips.
"Hmm…" Justin smiled after the kiss broke. "I’ll be sure to bring you up here more often."
Ashley playfully slapped him on the arm.
"So how are we dividing the rooms?" Drew asked out loud as he sat down on the couch.
"Well, there are four rooms in here to be divided among the ten of us," Justin stated. "There are a couple of rooms with three beds, so I don’t really know how we want to work it out."
"All I know is that I want to share a room with Becki," Drew grinned at his girlfriend.
Everyone laughed at Drew’s comment.
"And I think that it’d be best if Justin and I share a room," Ashley added.
"So that leaves us…" Nick looked around the room at Sara, Jeff, Charlene, Jessica and Megan.
"How about this? Us two guys and you girls together?" Jeff suggested.
"Yeah, and you two get three beds while us four have to share three beds? I think not, Mr. Timmons," Charlene said.
"But Char, this is probably the best we’re gonna have it," Jessica pointed out and the girls reluctantly agreed to the plan.
After arranging the rooms, everyone decided to unpack and rest up a little. The group was going to go into town for the night for dinner.
"I’m glad that we got the room together," Drew hugged Becki.
"So am I," Becki replied until she saw the grin on Drew’s face. "Drew!"
"Hey, would you rather I go share a room with Nick and Jeff?" Becki pretended to think about his suggestion seriously. "I think not. Besides, we’ll have a lot of fun and you know it."
"Oh, no! Drew’s definition of fun!" Becki mocked him sarcastically.
"You know what I love about you, Becki?" Drew asked in spur of the moment, facing Becki.
"What?"
"Your sense of sarcasm," Drew kissed her on the nose.
"Of course," Becki laughed and the two of them kissed passionately.
Becki finally broke the kiss after a little while. "If I don’t finish unpacking right now, you know what the rest of the guys are gonna think."
"Let them think like whatever they want to!" he kissed her again and the two flopped onto the soft mattress.
Nick and Jeff unpacked their clothes rather quickly. They flipped on the radio and ironically, "This Gift" went on the radio.
"This is so great! We’re out here, practically in the middle of nowhere, and this is just the perfect holiday setting," Jeff sighed, looking at the snow that had started outside.
"Yeah, I know what you mean," Nick lied on his back.
Someone knocked on the door slightly.
"Come in," Nick called out.
Sara entered the room. She looked over at Jeff and said, "Can I borrow Nick for a little while?"
"Sure, I guess so," Jeff shrugged his shoulders.
Nick got up from the bed and went out of the room with Sara.
"The girls are unpacking and I don’t feel like doing that now. Do you want to come out for a little walk with me?" Sara said as she descended the staircase.
"Sure," Nick nodded.
The two put on their jackets when they reached the front door of the cabin and headed out.
Nick took a deep breath. The clear air and snow mixed to give him a great holiday spirit.
"This is really great," Nick sighed and steam came out of his mouth from the coldness of the air.
Sara walked down the front steps and into the snow. She picked up a large snowball and threw it at Nick.
"It is great!" she exclaimed, laughing.
"You think this is really funny?" Nick retorted, running down the steps and picked up a snowball to throw at Sara.
Soon enough, the two were having a snowball fight.
With their shrieks as they kept on slipping on the slippery ground, the rest of the house soon went to see what was going on with the two of them. Noticing how much fun Nick and Sara were actually having in the snow, the group didn’t waste time joining into the fight. The girls, Sara, Charlene, Jessica, Megan and Ashley, were together against the guys, excluding Drew, who was nowhere in sight along with Becki.
After a while of fighting in the snow, the guys called it quits because the five girls were just overpowering the three guys.
"We win!" Charlene exclaimed happily, sticking her tongue out at Jeff.
"That’s only because there are more of you than us," Jeff replied, not accepting that they had lost.
"Yeah, whatever!" Jessica said.
"I think we want a rematch before we leave with Drew here with us," Justin added.
"Fine, whatever you guys want to you," the girls laughed.
The group slowly headed into the house, back into the warmth. The girls headed upstairs first to get a change of clothing. As they went into the direction of their respective rooms, they saw Drew and Becki emerging from their room. Becki’s hair was a little out of place and Drew’s clothing was unruly.
Megan grinned at Ashley and the two immediately broke out laughing.
"Megs, get your head out of the gutter," Drew said, blushing a little.
Becki started to chase down Megan, but she got to her room first and shut the door. Megan fell on her bed laughing with Sara, Charlene and Jessica.
After a little while, after everyone finished changing out of their wet clothes, they all headed down to meet everyone else. Drew and Becki had had a change of clothing and were cuddling on the couch. The other three guys had just changed quickly and were downstairs. Nick and Jeff were in the kitchen planning things to do. Justin was in the living room watching the television, patiently waiting for Ashley to come down.
Megan walked over to Drew and Becki.
"Hey, guys, sorry about earlier," Megan apologized.
"That’s okay," Becki smiled. "By the way, where did all of you come from anyway?"
"We had this huge snowball fight. It was really awesome. The guys aren’t satisfied with losing, so they want to have another snowball fight before we leave. Up to it?" Megan asked.
"Count me in," Becki replied.
"Me too," Drew added.
"Okay, you guys, Jeff and I have found a great restaurant to go to tonight," Nick announced as everyone gathered in the living room.
"Good," Sara smiled.
"Why don’t we head out now to go around the city and then have dinner and then whatever we want to do?" Jeff suggested.
Everyone agreed and the group headed out to their rental cars.
