"Oh my gosh!" Sarah screeched as soon as Wendy let out her scream.

Jen started to feel dizzy as soon as she saw it and Wendy and Pamela caught her just when she fainted. Drew, Justin, Nick and Jeff all came running across the parking lot when they heard the scream from Wendy. Sarah ran to the guys and hurried them. By the time they got there, Wendy and Pamela were on the floor trying to wake up Jen.

All of the guys just had blank faces as they saw a dead girl lying in a pool of blood about ten feet from the girls’ rental car.

"Drew, do something!" was all Nick could tell his brother to do.

With a background in EMT, Drew checked for a pulse in the girl’s neck, but there was nothing. He tried again with no luck.

By this time, tears were streaming down Sarah’s face and Jeff went hugged her.

"We need to call the cops," Justin said, pulling out his cell phone.

Within five minutes, an ambulance and a police car came down to the club. Most of the people that were still in the club had gone outside to see what was going on. Jen had waken up already, but was still on the floor, shaken up by what was in front of her.

A policeman walked over the eight that were surrounding the dead body.

"Hi, I’m Officer McCormick. I need to ask all of you a few questions," he said.

The paramedics were picking up the girl in a stretcher.

"Oh my gosh," Wendy gasped.

"Yes?" Officer McCormick asked.

"I know her…that’s Courtney, from the concert. Nick, you have to remember, you serenaded to her during ‘Still’. That’s her," Wendy whispered.

Nick stared at the face of the girl. "You’re right…" he trailed off.

"Do you two know anything else? This is crucial in finding her murderer," the officer explained. "Is there anything else that she told either one of you? Or the rest of you, for that matter. Do you know of any reasons why this happened to her?"

"No," Wendy said as she thought back to the concert that had ended about three hours earlier. "She didn’t mention anything special to me. How about you, Nick?"

"No, nothing that I can remember of either," he answered.

"This can’t happening," Sarah whispered to Jeff, still wrapped in his arms.

He stroked her brown hair to comfort her. "It’ll be okay, sweetie."

Officer McCormick called for some backups and closed off the entire area. He told 98 Degrees and the four girls that they can go home, but they should expect calls from the police station throughout the night.

"Can you guys just drop us off at our hotel?" Jen said tiredly, grabbing Nick’s arm.

"Yeah, sure," he said quietly as all of them got into the limo.

During the ride home, both Jen and Wendy fell asleep in Nick and Drew’s arms, respectively. They finally reached the hotel and the girls said good-byes and just headed upstairs to their room.

Outside of Wendy and Pamela’s room, there was a note posted, waiting for them to be noticed. In scribbled handwriting, it read "You won’t get out of here alive."

Jen nearly had another fainting spell. Wendy ripped it off of the door and stormed towards the phone.

"Drew, pick up. Come on," she whispered to herself as Drew’s cell phone started to ring.

"Hello?"

"Drew? It’s Wendy."

"Is everything okay?"

"No, actually it’s not. Can you guys come over here right now?" Wendy asked.

"Yeah, sure," Drew said questionably.

"Thanks," she replied and hung up.

"Who would do something like this to us?" Sarah asked, sitting on the bed.

"I don’t know, but whatever it is, we have to get to the bottom of it," Pamela said.

A few minutes later, the guys arrived at the room. Wendy showed them the note that they had found earlier.

"This is nuts!" Pamela exclaimed.

"I’m almost afraid to go into our room," Jen said quietly to no one in particular.

Everyone looked at one another. Reluctantly, Jeff and Sarah went to her room with Jen. Jeff opened the door as Sarah followed after him closely. Slowly, he flipped on the light switch.

Everything was untouched in the room, from the looks of it. Sarah sighed a sign of relief. The two of them didn’t stay long in the room.

"Is everything okay next door?" Wendy asked concernedly.

"Yeah, everything is fine. As far as we could see," Sarah answered hesitantly, "but I have no idea what in the world is going on."

"I just can’t believe that this is happening to us," Wendy cried frustratingly. "I mean, we are supposed to be having fun here, but instead, we’re all scared out of our minds to what’s going on."

Drew walked over and kissed Wendy on the forehead.

All of them talked some more and then finally fell asleep.

In the middle of the night, Sarah woke up to some scratching sounds. She looked over to everyone else. They were all asleep. Then she looked over to the clock. 4:36. She thought that it must’ve been nothing and went back to sleep. As soon as she closed her eyes, the scratching sound reappeared. Slowly, she got up from Jeff’s chest and walked over to the door. Quietly, she unlocked the door and peeked into the hallway. Her eyes opened wide as soon as she saw a man wearing all black trying to break into the room next door.

"Sarah?" Jeff whispered from the room.

Immediately, Sarah closed the door as the man ran away from the sound of the door.
