Jamie got out of her Passat and locked the door. She held her books tightly by her side and ran toward the building across the parking lot. She was late for her philosophy for the second time in the week. Her professor wasnt the nicest when it came to being late either.
She turned the corner quickly and suddenly bumped into someone. Her books fell all over the floor.
"Im so sorry," the guy said as he knelt down to pick up her books.
Jamie was already picking up her stuff. She looked up and was mesmerized by the blue eyes she was looking into.
When she realized that she was staring, she stood up and said, "Im sorry."
"It was my fault. My name is Jeff. And you"
"Jeff, I dont mean to be rude, but I need to get going. Im late for my class," Jamie said.
"Sure," Jeff smiled politely.
"By the way, its Jamie. I guess Ill see you around," she said and turned around to head over to her class.

"Jeff, where are you bringing me?" Jamie asked as she sat impatiently in Jeffs Grand Cherokee.
"Youll see when we get there, Jamie. It will definitely be a surprise though," Jeff laughed.
Jamie leaned her head to the side against the window. It was her one-year anniversary with Jeff. The night after they bumped into one another, they met up again. Actually, one of their close friends knew introduced them that night. Jeff didnt waste anytime to ask her out and they had been going strong ever since that night.
The sound of the car engine died down. Jamie realized that they had reached their destination.
Jeff got off and ran around the car to open the door for Jamie.
"Thank you," she took Jeffs hand.
Jeff had brought her to a French restaurant by the shore. It was on a hill, and overlooked the Pacific Ocean.
"I remember how you said that you wanted to come here before," Jeff said as the two of them walked toward the restaurant.
One of the waiters brought the two to their table. Jamie sat down and saw a black velvet box in front of her.
"Jeff?" she asked quietly.
"Open it," he smiled.
Slowly, she opened the box. Inside it, there was a gold locket. She opened it to reveal a couple of pictures of them together.
By then, Jeff had gotten up and was behind her.
"This is so beautiful, Jeff," Jamie said and looked up.
The two of them shared a kiss.
Jeff took the chain and put it around her neck.
"I love you, honey," Jeff whispered into Jamies ear and walked back to his seat.
"I love you, Jeff," she smiled.

Jeff rang Jamies doorbell. It was New Years Eve as well as her 21st birthday. The two of them were in the senior year of college, although Jeff was a year older than her. She had told him repeatedly not to do anything too special for the night, but he knew that he had to plan something for her. After all, it was her birthday.
They had gotten an apartment together not too far from the university a couple of months before. Jamie just wanted to spend the night together with Jeff, maybe watching a movie or two. She definitely didnt expect anything special. However, Jeff had many ideas in mind.
After going out to an elegant restaurant, the two of them arrived back to the apartment building where they lived. Instead of going to their apartment though, Jeff took her up to the roof of the building, which was high enough to look over the town.
Jamie gave Jeff a weird look, but decided that she would go along with his plan, whatever it was.
Up on the roof, there was some special decorations. Not only for the holidays, but sterling roses scattered around. There was a table at the right side, with a couple of wine glasses on it.
"Whats all this?" Jamie asked, her eyes glistening with happiness.
"Its just a little something for you," Jeff replied, smiling at her.
"Thank you so much," she walked over to the edge and looked over at the bright lights of the town.
The breeze slowly and gently blew toward them. Jeff wrapped his strong arms behind her and nibbled her ears. His fingers intertwined with hers at her waist. The two of them stood together in silence, just content to feel the presence of the other.
Holding her hands, Jeff spun her around slowly.
"I have something to ask you," he said, reaching into his pocket.
Jamie stared at him, awaiting for his question.
Jeff got down on one of his knees and opened a black velvet ring box. He held the box in one hand and her hand in the other.
"Jamie, I love you so much," he began to say. "For the past couple of years, youve opened up my life like I had never imagine. And for the past couple of months, I love waking up every morning with you by my side. The warmth of your smile, the smell of your hair, your kindness towards others those are the things I know that I cant live without. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Jamie. Will you marry me?"
Tears of happiness was falling out of Jamies eyes. She grinned at him and replied, "Yes, Jeff, I will marry you."
Jeff happily slipped the ring on her left hand and got up to hug her.
"You just made me the happiest man alive," Jeff said before he kissed her passionately.

"Im so excited!" Jamie said happily to her best friend and maid of honor, Tara, in the dressing room of the church.
"You look so pretty, Jame," Tara said, looking at Jamies reflection in the mirror.
"You too," Jamie replied, getting up to hug her friend. "Thank you so much for hooking the two of us up."
"Im just really happy that you two are so happy."
Some started to knock on the door.
"Yeah?"
Jamies mother and father opened the door and went to see their daughter. After congratulating each other, the ceremony was about to begin.
Jeff took his place on the altar with his best man, Drew, on his left.
Soft music began, and Tara walked down the aisle with her baby pink dress. As soon as Tara took her place, the organist started to play her instrument and all the guests stood up.
Jamie walked down the aisle with her father slowly, smiling at all the people she loved. After seemingly forever, Jamie saw Jeff. He looked really handsome in his tuxedo and tears fell from her eyes when she realized that her dream was coming true.
Jamie and Jeff said that vows and were pronounced husband and wife by the priest. After the ceremony, they went over to a nearby hotel for the reception. The newly weds sat in the middle of the room, surrounded by tables of people who attended the wedding before.
After the dinner was over, Jamie and Jeff stood up to the little stage in front of the room, along with the maid of honor and the best man.
"Hi," Jamie smiled ecstatically to everyone.
People started to quiet down and focus their attention to the married couple.
"Jeff and I would first like to thank everyone of you who are here right now to share this special moment in our life. All of you have influenced one time or another during our lifetimes and we are very thankful for that," Jamie said.
"We would also like to thank our parents and siblings. Without you guys, we might not be here right now. And especially to you, Tara," Jeff looked over to her standing next to Jamie, "we will love you forever for helping us get together. Drew," Jeff turned to his other side, "thank you so much for being there for me always."
"I have something to say to the two of you," Tara spoke up. "Ive been friends with two of you for a few years and I know that you two are just perfect together. Im very honored to be a part of the wedding in such an important way."
She hugged both Jamie and Jeff.
"I guess its my time to talk," Drew laughed. "I dont have a lot to say except that I think that this is the best decision that you two made. Im really happy for the two of you. Jamie, I know that youre perfect for Jeff here because youve been the only one whos able to make Jeff this happy. And hes as happy as Ive ever seen him. I hope that you guys will grow old and be happy together."
He hugged the newly weds as well.
Drew picked up his champagne glass and everyone said "Cheers".
After cutting and serving the wedding cake, the DJ put on Jamie and Jeffs song. He led her onto the dance floor and they swayed slowly to "Youve Got A Way" by Shania Twain.
You've got a way with me
Somehow you got me to believe
In everything that I could be
I've gotta say--you really got a way
You've got a way it seems
You gave me faith to find my dreams
You'll never know just what that means
Can't you see... you got a way with me
CHORUS:
It's in the way you want me
It's in the way you hold me
The way you show me just what Iove's made of
It's in the way we make love
You've got a way with words
You get me smiling even when it hurts
There's no way to measure what your love is worth
I can't believe the way you get through to me
(CHORUS)
BRIDGE:
Oh, how I adore you
Like no one before you
I love you just the way you are
(CHORUS)
It's just the way you are
