Over two years had passed by since Toni had moved from Colorado. The transition was difficult for her, but it was more difficult for her children. They had to live without a father figure in their young lives.
Toni ha a respectable job at a local business corporation. Scotty recently began second grade and Josie attended day care.
She didn't know the exact reason, but Toni remained single. She was actually still legally married to Jeff, but there wasn't much to do about that. Sometimes, she wondered how Jeff was doing, but maybe it was for the best not knowing.
Scotty and Josie occasionally asked about Jeff, but Toni never answered what happened. She knew one day, she'd have to tell them the truth.
If anything, the move only made Toni stronger. She wouldn't let anything stand in her way. She actually gained so much by going off on her own.
