Wendy’s radio alarm went on at seven o’clock in the morning.
"There’s only 20 more minutes until we give away the grand prize of our 98 Degrees contest," the announce said on Z100, her favorite radio station.
For the past month, the radio station had been giving away the 98 Degrees album called 98 Degrees & Rising. Wendy was one of the lucky 100th callers to win it. By winning it, the person was qualified for the grand prize, which was a trip for four down to Puerto Rico to see 98 Degrees live in concert. She highly doubted her chance of winning, but wanted to listen to the announcement nonetheless.
Wendy got up from her bed and grabbed the CD from the top of her nightstand. Drew Lachey was definitely her favorite. She had found so many pleasant qualities about this guy. She had been listening to the CD ever since she received it and loved it. She had gotten her three best friends and roommates to love the guys as well.
"We’re going to call the winner right now…"
Suddenly, Wendy’s phone also started to ring. She had a puzzled look on her face and picked it up.
"Hello?"
"Wendy, you are our grand prize winner for the 98 Degrees contest!" the announcer screamed into the receiver.
Wendy screamed out loud and woke up her roommates, Sarah, Pamela and Jen. They all rushed into her room.
"Are you kidding me?" she asked ecstatically.
"No, you and three friends are going to be going down to Puerto Rico to see 98 Degrees in concert."
"What’s happening?" Sarah asked.
"Who’s in the back?" the deejay asked.
"My best friends in this whole wide world, Pamela, Jen and Sarah," Wendy answered.
"Well, I hope that you’re going to be bringing them to Puerto Rico with you."
"Yes, I am!"
"You can tell them that they are spending three days Puerto Rico to see 98 Degrees!"
"Thank you so much!"
Wendy covered the phone and told Pamela, Jen and Sarah the good news. They all jumped around Wendy’s room in exultation.
The radio got all of the necessary information from Wendy and gave her the information about the trip. The trip was going to be the coming week, with two nights and three days in Puerto Rico with $1000 spending money.
It was going to be a trip that they will remember forever.
