After about ten minutes, Officer McCormick went to the hospital again to ask more questions about this entire situation.
"How are you doing?" he asked after he entered Jeff’s room.
"Better."
"Is there anything that you would like to add after what happened last night?"
"Yeah, actually, some stuff came back to me last night. I remember that he had very intense hazel eyes."
"And he was about six feet tall and some what build?" the officer asked, looking back at some of the notes that he had taken the previous night.
"Yes."
"Anything else?"
"No, nothing more that I can remember of," Jeff answered.
"Any special features on his face or body?"
"He had a black mask on and black gloves. His mask was falling off and that’s how I caught a glimpse of his eyes."
"Since you know what he looks like, I think that it’s safe for me to say that he’ll come back for revenge or something. I’m going to be putting a guard outside your door and only the seven of you are able to enter because I know that you’re all ‘close-knit’. But no one else will be allowed in there until we do a security and identity check. For now, I’m going back to the station and search for more information," Officer McCormick said and left.
"Well, you guys don’t have to spend the day here," Jeff finally spoke.
"Yeah, guys, why don’t we head out for a little and then we’ll just come back later?" Justin suggested.
"I suppose that that’ll work," Sarah answered and turned to Jeff. "We’ll see you later."
She kissed him on the cheek and the seven of them left the room.
"Doctor, how long will Jeff Timmons be staying at the hospital?" Nick asked before they exited the hospital.
"He can be released as early as tomorrow, if everything is okay. We just need to keep him here for the night to observe him to make sure that everything is fine," the doctor answered and left.
"Alright, guys, where are we headed?" Drew asked.
"Well, I think there will be fans to recognize you guys if we go shopping, so we should just head back to the hotel and go swimming or something," Wendy suggested.
"Yeah, that’ll work for me," Justin said.
The seven of them entered the limo and headed to the girls’ hotel first so they could get their bathing suits. They all went back to the hotel where 98 Degrees were staying.
After they all changed, they headed down to the pool. Wendy was the first on to enter it. Drew followed her by jumping in and making a huge splash. Wendy and him started splashing water at one another. Everyone followed them and not too soon after, there was a water war going on.
Drew disappeared under water and Wendy started to look for him. Suddenly, her body came out of the water and she was on top of Drew. However, she fell back into the water because she was unbalanced.
For a few hours there, the seven of them forgot about what had happened the previous night and just fully enjoyed themselves.
~*~*~In Jeff’s room~*~*~
Jeff had met his guard outside his door about an hour ago and he had absolutely nothing to do. He was feeling a lot better and was longing to go hang out with his friends. He grabbed a couple of magazines and skimmed through them, paying a lot of attention to the articles that were written about 98 Degrees. He laughed at some of them, realizing how much the public actually knew about them. Slowly, Jeff drifted off to sleep.
Jeff’s guard had been on duty outside of his room for the past four hours and was definitely getting a little tired. Seeing that Jeff was sleeping, he went off to the cafeteria quickly to buy himself a coffee.
As soon as the guard had left, the mysterious figure entered Jeff’s room furtively. Slowly and quietly, he walked over to Jeff’s bedside with a knife in his hand.
The knife came nearer and nearer Jeff, but suddenly, his eyes shot opened. Unprepared for this is happen, the man started to struggle to get the knife close to Jeff. Using all his strength, Jeff tried to fight back.
In the mist of the battle, Jeff’s door shot open and three guys grabbed onto the mystery man. Jeff coughed to catch his breath as Sarah moved next to him. The mystery struggled to get loose. By this time, Jeff’s security guard arrived and called to the station for backups as soon as possible.
"Are you okay?" Sarah asked concernedly as soon as the mystery man settled down.
"Yeah, I’m okay, he didn’t do anything. Thanks to you guys," he looked over to Nick, Drew and Justin.
A few policemen arrived within minutes and arrested the mystery man right on the spot and brought him over in a police car. The guard stayed outside of the room leaving eight people in Jeff’s room.
"Was that him?" Jen asked quietly.
"I’m guessing that it is," Jeff answered with uncertainty in his voice.
"I just really hope that this thing will be over with really soon," Wendy said quietly.
"So do I," Drew replied, putting his arms around her.
"Well, what’s going to happen now?" Sarah asked.
Everyone looked at her, but no one had the answers.
