It was an hour later and everyone had gathered in the living room, answering questions for the police.
Pamela had been crying non-stop since she woke up, and Justin was holding her tightly. Jen was laying in Nicks lap on the couch and he was stroking her long blond hair. Jeff wrapped his arm around Sarah, who had her head on his shoulder. Drew had his face in his hands, sitting all by himself in the other end of the room. His eyes were puffy and red from all the crying that he had been doing.
The police had arrived as soon as everybody finished checking the house again, with no signs of Wendy anywhere.
They asked Drew many questions repeatedly. He had gotten frustrated after a couple of times.
Nick got up from Jen and walked over to his younger brother.
"How are you holding up, Drew?" Nick asked concernedly.
"Ill be better if they would just find Wendy already!" he yelled with frustration.
"Calm down, Drew. We need to stick together and just need to think where theyve gone," Nick replied.
"Do you really believe that, Nick? Because I dont! I mean, we dont know the first thing when it comes to this guy, except for the fact that hes a psycho. How can I calm down when I know that my girlfriend is in the hands of some guy who tried to kill Jeff a couple of weeks ago?"
Nick just kneeled beside Drew speechless. He knew that it wouldnt really do either of them any good to tell Drew to calm down. He knew that he would do the same thing if it was Jen who got kidnapped.
"So what now?" Drew finally asked quietly.
"I honestly dont know, Drew," Nick replied in a whisper.
"Nick, can I tell you something?"
"Yeah, sure."
"I think that Im in love with Wendy. I know that this isnt the time to say it, but I do."
A tear fell from his eye and rolled down his cheek quickly onto his T-shirt.
Nick patted Drew on the back. "Its okay, Drew. I can tell it in your eyes."
After a few more seconds in silence, Nick went back over to Jen. Pamela had stopped crying by now, but she was long from being fine.
~*~*~In a van~*~*~
Wendy was started to wake up from the drug that she was submitted to. There was a black cloth over her mouth and her hands were tied together by a rope behind her body. A huge headache went over her as she realized that she was in a van. Her eyes grew larger and she realized that she was in the van with Pete. She stayed there in silence, not knowing what to do with herself.
The van slowly went to a complete stop. She closed her eyes again, hoping that she was going to be able to get out. Instead, Pete opened the side door and carried her out into an old and decrepit warehouse.
As soon as Pete sat Wendy down on a wooden chair, she started to think of ways to escape. However, because it was still night time, Wendy got tired and fell back into a deep sleep.
~*~*~At the summerhouse~*~*~
The sun slowly rose and rays shone through the windows of the summerhouse. The police left around three in the morning and everyone just stayed together in the living room. Everyone had fallen asleep, except for Drew. He tried and tried, but he just couldnt get over for a second what had happened to Wendy earlier.
Justin was the first one to wake up and he finds Drew just sitting there on the couch. He got up from where he was with Pamela and walked over to him.
"How are you doing, Sprout?" Justin asked sensitively.
"Its been a long night," Drew replied.
"Did you sleep any?"
"No. I was just thinking how I couldve just left her there all by herself? I shouldve known better than to do that," Drew blamed himself.
"Drew, there was no way for you to know that Pete was going to be coming after Wendy. Dont blame yourself," Justin said sympathetically.
"Im trying not to, but I was just sitting here the whole night. And I knew that I couldve prevented this whole thing if I had just stayed with her like we had all agreed upon last week."
"Theres no use just trying to blame yourself now. We have to try and find her."
"Dont you think that I know that?" Drew raised his voice and then paused for a second. "Im sorry, Justin. Its just that this is really hard for me."
"I understand, Drew. I just wish that you would stop blaming yourself for this whole thing. Well find her."
"I really hope that youre right."
Just then, Jeff woke up also. He saw Justin and Drew together all the way on the other side of the room and decided to join the two of them.
"Are you okay, Drew?" Jeff asked.
"Yeah, Ill be okay. Im going to go upstairs and change and stuff," Drew said and left Jeff and Justin.
"Is he okay?" Jeff asked after Drew disappeared up the stairs.
"I think that hes still in shock about this thing, but I think that hell be fine. Hes just blaming himself for all this," Justin explained.
"He must feel terrible though."
"I know."
~*~*~At the warehouse~*~*~
Wendy woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside. The rays of the sun went right to her eyes. She looked around and had no idea what she was doing in this warehouse.
"Well, well, well, look who decided to wake up?" Wendy heard from a voice behind her.
Wendy turned around to come face to face with Pete. He pulled the cloth over her mouth down.
"What are you doing with me?" Wendy asked with absolute fear in her voice.
"Oh, theres no need to be afraid," he touched her along her jaw line.
She snapped her head back out of his touch.
"Why am I here?" Wendy started to shake.
"I had to get one of you after what you put me through down there in Puerto Rico," Pete said.
Pete had dark, messy hair. He was slightly build and he had a thin goatee growing. His voice was deep and forceful and was very serious.
"What do you plan on doing to me?"
"Well, I have to get you and your friends back for what happened in Puerto Rico and since they all care about you, you were my perfect candidate."
"How can you be so heartless? You deserved exactly what you got for attacking Jeff. And you got away with murdering Courtney, so"
"Oh, is that what you think?" Pete interrupted.
"Isnt it true?" Wendy snapped back.
"Dont you talk to me that way!" he hit her across the face forcefully.
Wendy stared at Pete and kept her mouth shut.
"You see, you dont get the upper hand here, so dont you dare do anything against me. Or else you wont see another day!" he shouted at her and left her alone.
Oh, I have to get out of here, Wendy thought to herself after Pete left. Please, Drew, come and save me.
Wendy started to sob uncontrollably in the middle of the warehouse.

"So, what now?" Sarah asked once they had all waken up and it was a couple of hours later. Everyone was seated around the dining table, supposed to be eating dinner.
"Hows Drew doing?" Jen asked shyly.
"I dont know," Nick replied.
Drew had gone upstairs to his room that morning and he hadnt shown his face to everyone since. He just sat there in silence in his room, just thinking. He had never been so sad and depressed his whole life.
"I dont know what to say. I never thought that something like this would ever happen to us," Pamela said.
"Ditto," Sarah and Jen replied in unison.
"Im really sorry, you guys. I never thought that something like this would happen to you guys," Justin said.
"I didnt mean it like the way it came out," Pamela apologized. "I mean, were in this as much as you guys are since we knew Courtney too. Its just so weird due to all of the circumstances. I mean, Ive been best friends with Wendy for seven years and nothing like this has ever happened to us."
"Yeah. Sarah and I have been best friends for most of our lives too and we wouldve never figured that wed meet up with 98 Degrees and be on this little venture, so you can call it," Jen added.
"I guess so, I just wish that it didnt come at such a bad timing, if you know what I mean. Drew is head over heels about Wendy and this wasnt supposed to happen to someone like him," Nick replied. "We have to help him. Hes really depressed right now and I just wish there was something that we could do for him."
"Any ideas?" Jeff asked everyone.
They all looked at one another.
"There are so many things to do, but he wont be in the mood for any of it at all," Jeff said.
"What do you have in mind?" Sarah asked.

What can I do to get out of here? Wendy though as she struggled with the ropes that were tied around her hands.
She had spent about six hours at this little warehouse and she was totally clueless about what Pete was going to do with her there. There were actually a few possibilities, but it was all too hard for her to think about.
"Heres your breakfast," Pete said, shoving a plate with a piece of bacon for her.
"No, thanks," Wendy answered as politely as she could.
"Either you get used to my service here, or else you wont make it."
"Im not hungry right now," Wendy said coldly.
"Whatever," Pete said and left her alone.
I cant stand being here for any longer, she looked around the warehouse and there was no way to get out except to break through the doors that Pete had put a lock on. All of the windows in the building was high up and there was only one door.
She looked around her surrounding and there was nothing in sight to help her.
"This is going to be a long stay," she sighed out loud to herself.
