Jeff Timmons finished yet another concert on his current tour with 98 Degrees. He had been so busy with his music career that he had had no time to date at all, at least not seriously. 98 Degrees had become a great success all over the world, but especially in the United States. The group had been touring non-stop for a while already. Whenever they do get a day off, they got in the studio to work on their next album.

Dr. Allison Walsh took a short break from her 12-hour shift at the hospital. The hospital had been short staffed for a while and Allison decided to work a little beyond her regular hours. With the job, Allison rarely had the time the date anyone. It was okay for her though because she was very content with her job and how her career was working out.

Angel Caitlin approached a few other angels, who had been observing people on earth for a while already.
"Angel Elizabeth, can I ask you a question?" Angel Caitlin asked.
"Of course," Angel Elizabeth replied kindly.
"Why do people on earth over work themselves so much?" Angel Caitlin asked innocently. "They don’t seem to enjoy themselves very much."
"How do you mean?"
"I was looking at a couple of them and all they seemed to do was work. They enjoyed their jobs, but they seem so alone on the inside," Angel Caitlin explained.
"They haven’t crossed path with the person they’re destined to be with yet," Angel Lindsay intervened.
"Will they be able to find one another?"
"Some do and some don’t," Angel Lindsay said.
"Can we help them in any way?"
"We can try, but things may not always work out for them," Angel Elizabeth replied.

Allison finally finished her shift. She decided that she would just go home to take a shower and get a little sleep before her next shift began. Besides, she hadn’t been home for a few days already, it was a good time to check on her mail and the answering machine.

Drew Lachey decided to go get something to eat. The guys were back at the hotel and it was already pretty late at night. He probably wasn’t going to run into a lot of fans, if any, at that time of the night. He had seen a small fast food restaurant a couple of blocks down from the hotel and decided to go there.

Allison hadn’t realized how tired she actually was. She kept on playing with the radio to find a song that she actually liked. Finally, she left the dial on a station that was playing "The Hardest Thing". She let out another yawn. When she opened up her eyes again, she saw a shadow figure almost in the middle of the road. She slammed on her brakes and swerved to the side of the road.

"No," cried Angel Caitlin, "it wasn’t supposed to be him."
Angel Elizabeth carefully looked at the situation. "Maybe that was hot Fate decided it was supposed to be."
"That isn’t her destiny though. I know it," Angel Caitlin cried again.
"Angel Caitlin, just wait and see what happens," Angel Lindsay comforted.

Allison immediately got out of her car to see if she had hurt the person. She saw a man in his early 20s and through her medical instincts, she ran to check on his pulse and breathing. The man had a slightly weak pulse with shallow breathing. Without letting him out of her sight, she ran to her car to get out her cell phone. She immediately dialed 911 and checked on his condition. He had cuts and bruises, but nothing more serious than that on the outside. The paramedics arrived at the scene and took the man away. Allison followed closely behind in her car.

"I really hope that he will be okay," Angel Caitlin sighed. "Maybe she can finally meet her destiny."
"How would that happen?" Angel Lindsay asked.
"This man and her destiny are good friends."

"The man’s name is Andrew Lachey," the hospital receptionist told Allison.
"Is there a way to reach his friends or family?" Allison asked. "I think that they need to know."
"Dr. Walsh, I’ll contact them immediately."
"No, it’s okay. I need to tell them myself."
"Okay, here’s his emergency card in his wallet," the receptionist handed a card to her.
Allison walked to the pay phones, put in a quarter and entered the number.
"Hello?" a male voice came on the phone.
"Hi, this is Dr. Allison Walsh from the Boston Medical Center. There has been an accident involving Andrew Lachey," Allison felt a lump in her throat.
"Is he going to be okay?" the man asked frantically.
"He’s in the ER right now and I really don’t know anything else."
"I’ll be right there."
They hung up the phone.
Allison walked to the entrance of the emergency room, looking at the body she ran over. She turned around and headed to the cafeteria for a cup of coffee.

Three guys in their 20’s sprinted to the front desk of the hospital.
"We’re looking for Drew Lachey."
"Please take a seat over there," the receptionist said and dialed for Allison’s beeper.

"They must be here," Allison sighed.
She quickly finished the coffee and then headed up to the lobby. She first went to the receptionist, who showed her the guys that entered earlier. She nervously approached them.

"They’re finally going to meet!" Angel Caitlin exclaimed.

Allison saw three guys sitting on a bench together. One of them totally mesmerized her. She had never seen a man more handsome than this one. His clear blue eyes were completely drawn to her.
She took out her hand. "Hi, I’m Dr. Allison Walsh. I was the one who called earlier."
"Hi, I’m Nick Lachey, Drew’s brother. How is he?"
"He’s going to be okay. He’s in Room 124. We’re going to keep him here for the night just for observations," Allison explained.
"Can I see him?" Nick asked.
"Sure, but just one at a time," she nodded.
Nick left to find Drew’s room.
"Hi, I’m Jeff Timmons," the guy introduced, "and this is Justin Jeffre."
"Nice to meet the both of you," Allison shook their hands.

"They talked to one another," Angel Caitlin said. "They’re just destined to be together."
"I hope that you’re right, Angel Caitlin," Angel Elizabeth said.
"They just look so perfect together."

"So, do you know how Drew landed in the hospital?" Justin asked.
Allison sat down on the seat that had been occupied by Nick. "Actually, I was the reason why he is here now."
"What do you mean?" Jeff asked, admiring her long strawberry blond hair.
"Don’t get mad at me or anything, but I was behind the wheels of the car. I didn’t see him on the road and when I did, it was to late already," Allison explained guiltily.
Jeff and Justin sat there without saying a word.
"Look, I’m really sorry, I didn’t mean for it to happen. When you see Drew, tell him that I’m terribly sorry," Allison got up and walked out of the hospital.

"How could Jeff just let her leave?" cried Angel Caitlin.
"That’s how Fate decided it was going to be," Angel Elizabeth explained.
"I’m not going to let them be apart. They both cared for one another so much. I could tell," Angel Caitlin stated.

Jeff looked at Allison walking out of the hospital. He saw something in her that he liked, but he couldn’t quite grasp what it was. She wasn’t extraordinarily beautiful, but she was beautiful in her own ways.
Nick exited Drew’s room and Justin went in.
"How is he doing?" Jeff asked, trying to distract himself.
"He’s doing great and he wants to get out of here," Nick laughed.
"That’s Drew for you."
Jeff went to see Drew ater a little while and then went back to the hotel with Nick and Justin.

"Why can’t Fate let Jeff and Allison be together?" asked Angel Caitlin.
"Fate has a plan for everyone," Angel Elizabeth replied. "Maybe they can cross path again and realize they belong with one another."
"I hope so," Angel Caitlin said.

Allison got home and took a cold shower. Since she had to return to the hospital in a couple of hours, she didn’t bother going to sleep. She turned on her television and just sat watching for a little while.

Allison returned to the hospital in a little while. On the way to her locker, she took a peek at Drew through the window. He was asleep, but fine. Allison left to change into her hospital clothes. She grabbed a couple of her patients’ charts and headed out to the front of the building.
As Allison turned the corner, she ran right into someone. "I’m so sorry."
The guy picked up her charts. She looked up and saw a pair of clear blue eyes that she had seen before. She then realized that she stood before Jeff Timmons again.
"Here," he slowly handed her the charts.
"Thank you," Allison quickly grabbed them and walked pass Jeff.

"Jeff, go after her," Angel Caitlin silently pleaded as she was watching the scene.
Angel Caitlin had been hoping and wishing for Jeff and Allison to get together after how perfect they seemed together.

Jeff turned around and ran after Allison. "Wait."
Allison stopped and looked at him.
"I’m sorry about the way I acted last night," Jeff said sincerely, looking into her sparkling green eyes.
"It’s okay," Allison replied quietly.
"I really didn’t mean to be so rude. Would you like to go out to dinner tonight to make up for it?" Jeff asked nervously.
Allison was caught totally off-guard. "Excuse me?"
"I guess I’m asking you out tonight," Jeff grinned.
Allison thought about it and smiled. "I would love to go."

From Jeff and Allison’s first date, they knew that they were meant to be together forever. Although they both continued in their careers, they found complete happiness in one another

Angel Caitlin smiled ecstatically as she saw Jeff and Allison began a life of pure perfection.
"They belong together," Angel Caitlin simply stated.
"They do," Angel Elizabeth agreed.
"Fate had a way for them to be with one another and there they are," Angel Lindsay added.
The angels from above continued to find happiness for people through Fate, but they never encountered a more loving situation than that of Allison Walsh and Jeff Timmons.
